Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Habitics s.r.o. ("Habitics", "we", "us") handles information in the Sleep Sounds mobile application ("Sleep Sounds", "the app"), on both iOS and Android. We've built Sleep Sounds to be as private as possible: there are no user accounts, no ads, and no in-app purchases, and we never ask you for personal information.

1. Information Collected Automatically

To understand how the app is used and to fix problems, Sleep Sounds uses two Google Firebase services that collect limited, anonymized data:

• Usage & analytics data (Firebase Analytics). Anonymous, aggregated information about how the app is used — such as when the app is opened, which sounds and features are used, and your interface language. Where settings or interactions are recorded, they are stored in a general, aggregated form (for example, as ranges rather than exact values). This data describes actions, not identities.
• Crash & diagnostics data (Firebase Crashlytics). If the app crashes or misbehaves, we receive a technical crash report — such as the type of error, a stack trace, and general device and operating-system information — so we can diagnose and fix the issue.

This data is tied to a randomly generated, pseudonymous app-instance identifier created by Firebase, not to you personally. As part of standard analytics processing, Google may use your device's IP address to derive an approximate (country-level) location; we do not collect or store your precise location.

This automatic collection is part of the app's core operation and there is currently no in-app toggle to disable it. You can stop all further collection at any time by uninstalling the app.

2. No Advertising ID or Tracking

Sleep Sounds does not use any advertising identifier — neither Apple's Identifier for Advertisers (IDFA) nor the Android Advertising ID (AAID). On iOS, the app does not use Apple's App Tracking Transparency framework and does not ask for permission to track you, because it performs no cross-app or cross-site tracking. On Android, the advertising-ID permission is explicitly removed from the app. In all cases, the app contains no advertising or ad-tracking software.

3. Information Stored Only on Your Device

Your settings, preferences, and any content you create are saved locally on your device and are not transmitted to us. This includes:

• your interface accent color, fade and sleep-timer settings, per-scene volume levels and sound mixes, your list of favorite scenes, and flags that remember which in-app tips you've already seen;
• everything in the optional Sleep Log (sleep diary): your diary entries and any notes you write, your sleep ratings, and any custom tags, scales, and groups you create — together with related display preferences such as your chosen rating color scheme.

This information stays on your device, is never sent to us, and is removed when you uninstall the app.

4. Information We Do Not Collect

• No name, email address, phone number, or user account.
• No precise or GPS location.
• No contacts, photos, microphone, or camera access.
• No advertising identifier and no cross-app or cross-site tracking.
• No payment information (the app has no purchases).
• No user-generated content. Any content you create — such as your Sleep Log entries and notes — stays on your device and is never sent to or collected by us.

5. How We Use the Information

We use the limited analytics and diagnostics data described above only to:

• Keep the app stable by detecting, diagnosing, and fixing crashes and bugs.
• Understand which features are used so we can improve and prioritize them.
• Make general product decisions based on aggregated usage trends.

We do not use this data to build advertising profiles, and we never sell it.

6. Third-Party Services

The analytics and crash data are processed on our behalf by Google (Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics). Their handling of this data is governed by Google's privacy policy, available at policies.google.com/privacy, and Firebase data practices are described at firebase.google.com/support/privacy.

The app may also offer an optional in-app prompt to rate it. On iOS this uses Apple's StoreKit review prompt, and on Android it uses Google Play In-App Review. In both cases the rating is handled by the app store and shares no personal information with us.

7. Legal Basis for Processing (EEA/UK)

Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we process the anonymized analytics and crash data on the basis of our legitimate interest in maintaining, securing, and improving the app. Because the data is not linked to your identity, it is not used to make any decisions about you individually.

8. Data Retention

Analytics and crash data are retained by Google for the periods defined in their Firebase data-retention settings and policies. Data stored locally on your device remains until you clear the app's data or uninstall the app.

9. International Data Transfers

Google may process the analytics and diagnostics data on servers located in other countries, including the United States. Google applies appropriate safeguards for such transfers as described in its privacy documentation.

10. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data, or to object to certain processing. Because the data we receive is anonymized and not linked to your identity, we generally cannot single out or identify an individual's data. You can stop all data collection by uninstalling the app, and you can manage your favorites and settings directly within it. 11. Children's Privacy

Sleep Sounds is not directed to children and does not knowingly collect personal information from children. As the app collects no personal information from any user, it can be used without providing identifying details.

12. Security

Data transmitted to Firebase is sent over encrypted connections. While no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, we rely on Google's industry-standard infrastructure to safeguard the limited data we receive.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we'll revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Significant changes may also be noted within the app or its store listing.
